I’m a mom. Yep — got the title a little later in life, but hey, fashionably late is still fabulous, right? Turns out, I became a mom at exactly the right time: when I had just enough sleep in the bank and absolutely no idea what I was getting into.
Everyone says, “Being a mom is hard.”
Well… they’re not wrong. But what they don’t tell you is that motherhood comes with a free, no-return, lifetime upgrade:
- Your body becomes a 24/7 gym. (No membership required. Just tiny humans with endless energy.)
- Your brain? Running on low sleep but somehow handling hard-hitting investigations like, “Why can’t we have ice-cream for breakfast every day?
- Your social life? Mostly consists of surviving birthday party chaos, and befriending other moms who also gave up on matching socks… and schedules.
Before kids, I was proudly lazy. Like, elite-level napper. Could fall asleep mid-sentence. Now? I’m accidentally fit. These little humans dragged me from “chill mode” to “chase mode” before I could finish my coffee. I haven’t sat down in peace since that one Sunday in 2021. I miss her.
My kids made me:
- Active – Not by choice, but hey, steps are steps.
- Sharp – I can hear silence from three rooms away — and I know that means trouble.
- Smarter – Because I had to explain gravity using grapes. It worked. Sort of.
- More patient – Trying to get on their level — which means crawling, negotiating, and accepting that logic is optional.
Yes, parenting is hard. It’s chaotic, it’s messy, and it smells weird sometimes. But it’s also hilarious, heart-melting, and filled with those moments that make you say, “Okay, yeah… this is worth it.”
So here I am — fully mommed, half-caffeinated, and 100% ready to share my weird, wonderful, and slightly wobbly ways of parenting.
Welcome to being fullymommed.
